Ductile Iron Pressure Sustaining or Backpressure Control Valve with Hydraulic Check Feature
Lead Free* Models Available
1 1/4 to 16 in. (32 to 400mm)
Designed to permit flow when upstream pressure is above the adjustable setpoint of the control pilot, and throttle when upstream pressure falls below the adjustable setpoint. The valve closes drip-tight when downstream pressure becomes greater than upstream pressure.
When installed "in line" on the discharge of a pump, the valve acts as Backpressure Control and Check Valve. When pump discharge pressure falls below the pilot setting the valve throttles to increase backpressure against the pump. When the pump is turned off, the valve acts as a Hydraulic Check Valve, preventing reverse flow.
When installed "in line" connecting two distribution zones, the valve acts as a Pressure Sustaining Control Valve. When upstream pressure falls below the pilot setting the valve throttles to sustain pressure in the upstream zone, and closes drip-tight when downstream pressure becomes greater than upstream pressure.
