Reduced Pressure Detector AssembliesC200/C300 - In normal flowing operation, the independent Link-check remains closed until there is a water demand. Each check will then open and maintain an approximate 1 PSI differential in the direction of flow. In a nonflow or backflow condition, both checks will close until the resumption of normal flow.
C400/C500 - In normal flowing operation the independent check valves will be open and the pressure differential relief valve located between the two check valves, the area called the zone, will automatically open and close to maintain the zone pressure at least 2 PSI lower than the inlet pressure. If demand for flow stops, the differential pressure relief valve will automatically open and discharge water to maintain the zone at a pressure of 2 PSI lower than the inlet pressure. After the pressure differential is reestablished, the differential pressure relief valve will automatically close.
C200 Series
Double Check Valve Assemblies are used to prevent backflow of pollutants that are objectionable, but not toxic. Double checks may be installed under continus pressure service and may be subject to back pressure. Double Check Valve Assemblies may be used in fire protection systems, without chemical additives, industrial in-plant plumbing systems, and other systems requiring low-hazard protection. Local codes may vary, consult authorities for specific approved applications.
C300 Series
Double Check Detector Assemblies are used to prevent backflow of pollutants that are objectionable, but not toxic. Double checks may be installed under continuous pressure service and may be subject to back pressure. Double Check Detector Assemblies are used primarily on fireline sprinkler systems when it is necessary to monitor unauthorized use of water.
C400 Series
Reduced Pressure Zone Assemblies (RP's) provide protection to the potable water system from contamination in accordance with national plumbing codes. RP's are normally used in high-hazard applications for protection against both backsiphonage, backpressure and the fouling of either check valve.
C500 Series
Reduced Pressure Detector Assemblies (RPDA's) are installed on fire protection systems connected to the public water supply in a high-hazard application. In addition to the features of the C400, the C500 is used to monitor unauthorized use of water from the fire protection system.
C200/C300 - The Backflow Assembly shall consist of two independent Link-check modules within a single housing with sleeve access, required test cocks and drip tight shut-off valves. Link-checks may be removed and reinstalled in housing without any special tools. The housing shall be constructed of 300 Series stainless steel with groove end connections. Link-checks shall have reversible elastomer disks and in operation shall produce drip tight closure against the reverse flow of liquid caused by backpressure or backsiphonage. Device shall be an Ames Fire & Waterworks Colt 200 or 300 series.
C400/C500 - The Reduced Pressure Backflow Assembly shall consist of two independent Link-check modules, a differential pressure relief valve located between and below the two modules, drip tight inlet and outlet shutoff valves, and required test cocks. Both check modules and the relief valve shall be contained within a sleeve accessible single housing constructed from 300 series stainless steel with groove end connections. Link-checks shall have reversible elastomer disks and in operation shall produce drip tight closure against the reverse flow of liquid caused by backpressure or backsiphonage. Device shall be an Ames Fire & Waterworks Colt 400 or 500 series.
